For three months every winter, my wife would use a cheap little electric heater to take the edge off her cold feet. Every night of TV watching, little heater, large blanket. We had an outdated entertainment cabinet on a wall that we wanted to replace with something. We looked into first a wood stove, then gas, and finally electric. When we found the simplifier it seemed like it would fit, be easy to install, and put out enough heat for our large (vaulted ceiling's) room. My wife enjoys changing the colors depending on whether we are entertaining people (flame on / heat off) or watching TV at night (glowing ambers / heat on). I love the different heat settings, and knowing it is safe to use. No gas venting needed, no sparks ruining our wood floors or carpets. It was also fun to install.
